A Basic Introduction

About the Workshop:

Words have the power to hurt or heal, build up or tear down, comfort or curse. Through the four-step process of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), we can learn to use our speech in ways that promote presence, thus transforming emotional pain, depression, shame, and conflict into empowering connections. Learn how NVC can help you transform your relationship with yourself and others in this introductory workshop based on our methods plus the work of Marshall B. Rosenberg and The Center for Nonviolent Communication, www.cnvc.org.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is sometimes referred to as "compassionate communication", or "a language of life". It is a practical, learnable process whose purpose is to create a deeper quality of connection between ourselves and others in order to get everyone's needs met, peacefully and effectively. NVC guides us to reframe how we express ourselves and how we hear others. It supports us in getting what we most want without betraying our integrity or hurting other people. It has a profoundly positive effect on relationships, working and living environments and our capacity for social action.

Dates:

We will have a 2.5 hour Introductory Class once per month in the Greeley area for all that are interested. Locations to be announced prior to the event via email.

Donations:

We are requesting a $30.00 donation to attend the introductory class; however we would like all to participate, so if you are unable to attend for financial reasons, please come anyway.

Additional Training:

We have a 6 Week Communicating Without Violence Foundational Class that takes place throughout the year. Registration information will be available at the workshops.
